Massive Amounts Of Good
MAOG Presents - Mike Arturi - Revival Drum Circle
Sunday, May 28 at 1PM-2PM - Harmonium Stage
Returning to Revival again this year, Massive Amounts of Good will be hosting a food drive, sponsoring a drum circle in the Harmonium, as well as supporting/partnering with all Harmonium activities such as decor, giveaways, and downtime entertainment.
MAOG is teaming up with Lovin’ Spoonful drummer, Mike Arturi, for an epic drum circle at Revival 2017. This year our “tent” will literally be the Harmonium. We have some fun things planned. Mike joining us to lead a drum circle is about as fun as we could possibly ask for. All you need to do now is BRING YOUR DRUM, or come and join in with a friend!!!! This is going down immediately after the Mark Joseph & The American Soul set in the Harmonium, Sunday @ approximately (come early) 1pm. More about Mike’s philosophy as it relates to drumming below…
“Group drumming is an exercise in utilizing our natural response to rhythm and music in an effort to achieve beneficial outcomes. It is a non-competitive, inclusive activity that encourages individual creativity, breaks down social barriers, encourages freedom of expression, exercises non-verbal communication, and embodies unity and cooperation.”
Mike Arturi, Universal Music Center founder, is a lifelong professional musician and music lover. An accomplished drummer, Mike has played with nationally acclaimed artists including Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Dick Clark’s touring Rock and Roll Revival show, The Coasters, The Marvellets, Del Shannon, Freddie Cannon, The Drifters, Big Twist and The Mellow Fellows, The Boxtops, Head East, Gary Lewis and The Playboys and Badfinger. Currently, Mike is a long-standing member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee band, The Lovin’ Spoonful since 1996.
Massive Amounts of Good, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, continues to devote its energy to passionately advocating for the hungry, needy and socio-economically underrepresented members of our local communities. MAOG is focused on making a positive impact on a diverse group of individuals, directly within their space in our culture, through the utilization of the creative gifts and energy of its community.
“By design, we thrive off collaborating with existing nonprofits who share our mission to support the needy. We harness our creative community to generate awareness, create media, raise money, and serve those most in need in our communities. Our events combine the creative process and creators, with charity. We hold concerts, raise money at festivals, volunteer, organize food drives… just about anything someone in need in our communities may benefit from, we are interested.”
